Stalls FAQ

What are the set-up/tear down times for Carnival day?
Friday 4th July – The carnival committee will be on site all day on for stallholders that would like to set up early. We will have on site security from 6pm – 8am.
Saturday 5th July – All stallholders must arrive between 7:30am and 9:00am.
For health & safety reasons, any vehicles which are not remaining on the field for trading ONLY are to be removed from Calthorpe Park before 10:00am and remain so until 5:00pm.
What are the trading times for Carnival day stalls?

We ask stall holders to be set up by 10:00am for trading. Calthorpe Park doesn’t tend to get really busy until the procession starts arriving, which is between 12:45pm – 1:00pm. Vehicles are not allowed back onto the Park until 5:00pm, though the main stage and fun fair will remain open until later on in the evening to stalls are welcome to remain open into the evening.

Stalls in the area of the Dog Show can be reserved by completing the booking form here.

Do I need to provide public liability insurance for my stall?
Yes. Stallholders must be fully insured and provide us with a copy of their insurance certificate by the specified deadline. We will be unable to accept any bookings without proof of current, adequate Public Liability Insurance (PLI) insurance.
What is the anticipated footfall for this year?
Because the Fleet & District carnival is a free event, it is very difficult to gauge how many visitors attend. The procession entries tend to draw in the crowds who line the high street, and then follow the procession down onto Calthorpe Park. We have approximately 7,000-8,000 attendees throughout the day.
